Ready Set Reline was engaged by a strata company to address a overflowing sewer issue at a unit block. The blockage, caused by tree roots, coupled with aged clay pipes that were not sealed, led to a sewer overflow in the car park. The continuous leakage from these unsealed joints had resulted in dampness and a persistent odor in the underground parking area. To rectify the situation, we briefly shut down the sewer system for the block and provided a temporary sewer line. Using advanced U.V relining technology, we expedited the repair process by 50%, allowing us to treat 1 meter of a 6″ liner every minute with our efficient U.V pipe relining.
UV relining is a revolutionary method of creating a new pipe within the old one, using a resin-impregnated liner that is cured by ultraviolet light. This process seals all the cracks and joints, stops any root intrusion or leakage, and increases the flow capacity and durability of the pipe. UV relining is also faster, cheaper, and less disruptive than traditional methods of sewer repair.
The client contacted us after a plumber had cleared a blocked surcharging sewer line for the unit block. The sewer line had overflowed into the car park area and behind the retaining wall with raw sewer due to the line blocking with tree roots and the old clay pipes not being sealed. The client, a Strata management group, wanted to restore the sewer functionality and prevent any future leaks that could cause damp issues and smell within the underground car park area.
At Ready Set Reline, our priority was to ensure minimal disruption to the residents of the unit block. With this in mind, we carefully planned to have the sewer line shut down for the briefest period possible. Our expertise, combined with the latest UV relining technology, enabled us to accelerate the relining process to restore their plumbing back to normal as quickly as possible.
Gaining access to the sewer through a concrete wall opening in the car park, we proceeded to reline the sewer line beneath the unit block. Additionally, we were able to establish a temporary sewer line under the building, effectively diverting the sewer during our operations, ensuring no inconvenience was caused to the building’s occupants.
Before we carried out the relining, we found a large amount of concrete in the base of the sewer pipe, causing further issues and lumps in the pipe that could cause a blockage in the future. We were able to remove this using our IMS robotic cutter to ensure it was a clean flat surface to reline onto. We also had to work within a tight schedule and space to minimise the inconvenience for the residents and ensure a
high-quality result.
We used our UV relining technology to create a new pipe within the old one, sealing all the cracks and joints and preventing any root intrusion or leakage. We also used our Ultra Light service to provide a temporary sewer line under the building and divert the sewer while we carried out the relining works so we did not disrupt the occupants. We completed the job in one day, which is half the time than the traditional method.
Strata Plan praised our team’s dedication and efficiency, highlighting the swift resolution of the issue. Our approach not only rectified the sewer problems but also curtailed the project duration significantly. Through advanced technology and expert execution, Ready Set Reline delivered remarkable results for this Balmain property, preserving the the unit block’s sewer system.
