Ready Set Reline was engaged by a strata company to address a overflowing sewer issue at a unit block. The blockage, caused by tree roots, coupled with aged clay pipes that were not sealed, led to a sewer overflow in the car park. The continuous leakage from these unsealed joints had resulted in dampness and a persistent odor in the underground parking area. To rectify the situation, we briefly shut down the sewer system for the block and provided a temporary sewer line. UV relining is a revolutionary method of creating a new pipe within the old one, using a resin-impregnated liner that is cured by ultraviolet light. Gaining access to the sewer through a concrete wall opening in the car park, we proceeded to reline the sewer line beneath the unit block. Additionally, we were able to establish a temporary sewer line under the building, effectively diverting the sewer during our operations, ensuring no inconvenience was caused to the building’s occupants.
Before we carried out the relining, we found a large amount of concrete in the base of the sewer pipe, causing further issues and lumps in the pipe that could cause a blockage in the future. We were able to remove this using our IMS robotic cutter to ensure it was a clean flat surface to reline onto. We also had to work within a tight schedule and space to minimise the inconvenience for the residents and ensure a
high-quality result.
We used our UV relining technology to create a new pipe within the old one, sealing all the cracks and joints and preventing any root intrusion or leakage. We also used our Ultra Light service to provide a temporary sewer line under the building and divert the sewer while we carried out the relining works so we did not disrupt the occupants. We completed the job in one day, which is half the time than the traditional method.
