The Objective

The client wanted to resolve ongoing sewer line issues by reinforcing around 16-17 metres of deteriorating clay piping. They sought a minimally invasive, cost-effective residential pipe relining approach to extend the life of the pipe without requiring extensive digging. The solution had to comply with Australian Plumbing Standards for a safe, lasting result.

Step-by-Step Approach

Day 1 – Site Preparation and Initial Installation

On the first day, we focused on locating and preparing the site for relining. Using a pipe locator, we identified incoming house services to avoid any interruptions. Our team then cut through the concrete slab to access the cracked clay pipes. Once exposed, we carefully replaced the damaged sections with new PVC piping, which offers increased durability and resistance to corrosion. This process included installing a junction into a PVC pipe to enhance the system's accessibility.

We thoroughly cleaned the line using a high-pressure water-jetter and prepped it with a picote machine for optimal lining adhesion. This stage involved implementing a CCTV camera drain inspection to verify the pipe’s internal condition before installing the liner.
